I am still upset and kind of in shock. Billy is again attending a summer course on welding. It is sponsored by the school district and they provide transportation. Best of all, this year it is free and Billy earns a 0.5 credit for passing.
On Friday Billy got off the bus and started in front of the bus to cross the street. The bus driver turned off the red lights and started to pull forward. Billy jumped backwards fast enough to avoid being hit by the bus. Every student is taught to cross the street in front of the bus. So what is this drivers problem. Needless to say, I called transportation and I was a screaming maniac!! I admit it, but I did not use profanity. I just flat told them that is this moron could not drive properly, they needed to find someone who can.
I had a more civilized conversation with the head of transportation today. She at first was going to have the bus checked out for a faulty switch as the red lights are automatic. It was then that I finally got through to her that the drive had had the lights and flag out, but turned them off and started to go with Billy in front of the bus. I also explained to her that I was not relaying this from Billy, that my husband had been parked and saw the whole incident. She completely changed her tune then. We'll see.
Tonight there was a meeting of our Home Owners Association. My hubby is on the Board. Has been for years. OK, well and good. But the President that was elected last year blew up and resigned. YAHOO!!! He had his own agenda and that is not good. So by default as VP, Hubby is now the Pres. He is not sure which way that train went...
Branden has a job lined up!!! I got them both involved in a summer jobs program. They will work 20 hours a week and attend a workshop on Fridays and be paid for that too. It will be good experience for them both. This is a Federal Program so it doesn't cost the employers anything as the program pays their wages. Billy would like to find one in the automotive field, but that could be a problem as he is 17. The program has jobs, so one way or another, he will have a job. They can earn close to $1000.00 before taxes of course. Not bad for six weeks of work.
Me? I have been being lazy. I needed a few days to just veg and relax. I need to kick myself into gear and get busy on my quilt.
My sister's husband is holding his own as well as can be expected. But with liver disease we know there will be no up side. At least now he has excepted the fact that the end is coming. They can work together to get things in order. It is hard, but workable.
Well, that brings you up to date on this household. The insanity never ends.
Hugs all around,
Granny
