 My Rant for Today!!!

I am a Health Technician in our local elementary school. I was thrilled when I got the job, as I have always loved the medical profession. This is as close as I will ever get. To me it is just another way to help the children.

As the health tech I care for the medical needs of the children at school. The children’s injuries, their illnesses, the ones who just need a minute of one on one attention, and/or a hug. What really upsets me are the little ones who are sent to school ill. Oh, I don’t mean just a cold or a little cough. I am talking about fevers over 100, coughs so hard the child almost vomit, or children who have been vomiting the night before.

Now come on!! School is more than a babysitting service! What about the other children that are in the same class with your child?? What about the children in the school with life threatening diseases?? What about the health of your own child?? What is wrong with people??

What set me off?? Today, before school even started, I had a five year old come to me and tell me he was not feeling well. I checked him out and he was running a fever over 100!! Then, this little one tells me that he was given medicine before he was dropped off at our before school day care program. I was so angry!! I, of course, have to maintain professionalism, so I finally got ahold of this child’s father and told him that his son was sick and running a fever. He showed up over 90 minutes later. By then the fever was at 101!! What is wrong with parents??

This little boy looked up at at me and told me that his Dad didn’t care about him being sick. I gave him a hug and told him that I cared!!! I was sick to my stomach! How can adults be so uncaring? If I had my way, people who do things like this would be charged with child abuse!!

That is it for tonight.

 Prayers...

In WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of
people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed
hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace. There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America.

If you would like to participate, each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern
Time(8:00 PM Central) (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing
and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, and for a Godly nation. If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this along.

Someone said if Christians really understood the full extent of the
power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our
prayers are the most powerful asset we have. Together, we can make a difference!

Thank You and God Bless America!

I was just reading some of the other blogs and there are some I would love to just hug. Those who write and share their pain. Thank you and God bless you. Sharing helps us who are not living your life understand a little better. To those who share their hurts, remember that you are loved. To those who are hurting for someone else, remember prayer.

No, I am not going to preach. I just believe very strongly that God is the answer. I want to share that as much as sharing my pains and depression and worry. I thank all my new friends for allowing me to share, and who share with me so I realize I am not alone. That is a very good feeling.

So I am sending big hugs to all. Thank you so very much.

From Sunny Washington. (At least this week.)
