 Vacation

My vacation break is half over and I am sitting here wondering where the time has gone???

Let me see.... The 20th and 21st Chuck and I went on a shopping frenzy. We got what we decided on and Then I sat and wrapped. And I have to say we didn't go bankrupted doing it.

The 22nd Chuck's oldest son came over and we had our Christmas exchange with them. That is after I made him help me cook a rib roast. He is a Chef you see. Man, I did a great job on that roast.

The 23rd, Billy turned 16. HELP!!!!! He wanted to go to a movie with a couple of friends. They did and he had a great birthday.

On the 24th we were invited over to my sister's for a nice quiet dinner. Of course Ray refused to go. That was OK. We had a good visit and the boys were gentlemen. That was even better.

Then, on Christmas Day we were invited over to my youngest son's for dinner. Another nice treat. I didn't have to cook and clean. I was able to just spend time with my granddaughter. My grandson was way to busy doing boy thinks with my guys. They had a ball!!! Ray again refused to go.

Today I was able to get in and get my hair put back into shape. What a difference a few well placed snips can make. I also was able to get some of the laundry done. Shock!!!

Tomorrow there is a memorial service for a lady that was well known at the local food bank. She had a house and she would care for many with the food she was able to get from the food bands out here. That is around 5PM tomorrow. So that ties that day up rather well. We have another family to go visit and I want to get there. Oh well, when there is time.

I am waiting to see when Terri and her family will be able to come. Their gifts are under the tree waiting for them. I talked with her and she said they are getting better. Antonio was at work today so I know he is well.

With everything so spread out, it has made the vacation quiet and not crazy. This all in one day is for the birds. I think I will push for this again. I still have 6 more days off. I have to go back to work on the 2nd.

Tomorrow Branden will turn 17. Unreal. Where has that time gone???? I know he will want to do something like Billy did, but without his PO's permission, it is not going to happen. He is on a very short leash. It would help if Terri was able to come down tomorrow for the day. Oh Well.....

So as you can see this has been a good week and I am glad. I have had enough drama lately. I prefer these quiet sane days.

I hope everyone is happy and content. I wish a great 2008 to each and everyone.

Love to all,
Granny

Enough is Enough.... I am Done!!!

I have decided that enough is enough. I have become very down and unhappy, even depressed because of something that I can do nothing about nor can I change it. What has been getting to me?? My 41 year old son!!!

He moved back home over a year ago. I have explained some here on the stream about some of the problems, but not all. Live here has gone from bad to worse and enough is enough. We can not fix anything for him and we are done trying. He is an adult and he has to do this himself.

Ray has a problem with alcohol. He has for many years. But to talk to him about it, there is no problem. It is sad. When he is sober, he is a very nice likable person. But when he is drinking, he is nasty and mean. Not someone you want to be around.

When Ray asked to move home, he said he could not stand the pain in his injured foot any more. His plan was to get to the doctors, and the hospital that had cared for his injury to begin with and get the foot repaired again. It was a good solid plan. That was the end of October 2006. Well, here we are the end of 2007 and he still has not even seen the doctor. He had an appointment and 8 days before that appointment, he was stopped driving without a license. Not the first time. But this time he had an outstanding warrant. It was a drug warrant. He spent 45 days in jail. During that time he lost his income and his medical. He has done nothing to get them back.

He is completely jealous of our boys. I would almost say insanely jealous. He has begun yelling and screaming at them. He has even threatened to hurt them. We have told him repeatedly that he is to leave the boys alone. The last time he got angry and then drunk, he went after Billy. That was the weekend I went crash. What set him off?? I had found an old used laptop for Billy to use in school.

Ray was screaming at Billy then at me. Where were his sons computers?? Why don’t we buy the same things for his boys?? I in turn asked him what HE has bought his sons?? Wrong question!!! He really went ballistic. Too bad. He hasn’t seen or done a thing for his two sons in years. He is not a father to them. Thankfully his ex wife remarried a wonderful man who treats her two boys as they are his own. I couldn’t be more pleased with the life they have. We have tried to explain to him that his children have parents that care about them and provide for them wonderfully. But he can’t hear that. He has no idea what they have or don’t have. As their mother just told me, they “need” nothing.

To make this very long story a bit shorter, we have told Ray he has to move. We are done with his terrorizing the boys, with his hibernation in the trailer and doing nothing. We know he is in a depression, but we can do nothing to help him. It is sad, but our plate is full. We have these two damaged teens to try to get to adulthood. That is enough for us. Live here as it is, is not healthy or safe. So we are taking control and getting our life back.

Love to all,
Granny

 CRASH!!

I went down Thursday night. Sore throat, fever and wanting to crawl under the bed rather than in. I was running about 102* so I was out for the count. I slept most of the day on Friday. Took my cold medicine and back to sleep.

Today is Saturday. I am beginning to think I will live. So since I am up and about, my sweet hubby decided he should show me the picture he took on Friday. Did I know he took it??? NO!!!

This is Baby. She insists on being with my whether I know she is there or not. But look out if you try to move her. She will scream at you.

Talk to you later,
Granny
