Idle Thoughts

 Monday

Well, that means back to work, after a weekend off. Now that is a joke.. A weekend off means, doing the laundry, cleaning and cooking. Just like every other housewife. When do we get a day off?? Good question, right??

OK, I will admit this was my choice and I love my family very much. All of them. BUT, I would be extremely happy if just one of them would learn to bend at the waist. You know, pick up after themselves. I keep hoping, but I should stop complaining because, I will admit I made them the way they are. I believe it is called spoiling the kids and husband.

Monday also means that Chuck has to take Branden to therapy. That is about a one hour drive one way. Then on Tuesday he gets to do it again, only this time with Billy. Thankfully Billy's therapist is closer to home.

And Life Goes On.

It has turned not so nice around here now. The weather has a lot of the wet drippy stuff. It is one of the 4 letter words I like the least. When it is wet like this, recess is anything but fun. IF it is not raining too hard we can still go outside. But, the grass is so wet we either have sopping wet students, or we have to try to make them all stay on the blacktop.

Do you think I am having a Bit--- day?? Really I didn't. It was a very productive day at work. I know I a confusing, but how else can I have fun at my age??? I have to cause trouble somehow...

Actually I just popped in to say hello to everyone and make sure no one forgets I'm out here.
Later all,
Granny

 The New Branden....

Branden Before:

Now the change.....

Branden After:

What a difference a trip to the barber shop can make!!! Needless to say, I am one happy Grandma tonight...

Now let me explain the reasoning behind Branden's choice. When we went up to visit his Mom last Sunday, she told him she would give him $50 if he got a hair cut. THEN, his uncle Bob also told him that he would give him $50 for a good hair cut. Now let's do the math. $50+$50 = $100 He wanted a hair cut. I am wondering if they both knew the other had offered the $50. Too bad, I am going to hold them to their word. A 16 year old can always use $100 to save for something...

I printed the pictures and got a card ready for Branden to mail to Mom, and I emailed the pictures to his uncle. Now let's see how fast they pay up.

Branden is doing well in school. 1- A, 2- B, 2-C and 1-F. That is honestly much better than before. Now he wants to improve that 1- F.

Now, if I can get Billy in gear. He just doesn't seem to care. this is his Sophomore year and he is just not doing anything. I can tell him to do his assignment, but I can not force him. Even when he does do an assignment 9 times out of 10 he will forget to turn it in. I am really getting worried about him and his education. He is not slow or handicapped in any way, he just plain doesn't are. Right now he is flunking everything again.

We are still waiting to hear from the doctor about his blood work. I honestly hope it shows a problem so then just maybe there can be a correction to the way Billy is behaving now. Otherwise, I'll just have to sit on him and bounce. That is my favorite threat.

Well, that is what is on my pea brain tonight. That and my husband threw his back out again. Maybe I should bounce on him!!! He did in his syatic nerve again. (Not sure how to spell that one.) Man that hurts..

So there you have it. We are hanging in and going forward.

Bye for tonight,
Granny

Not the way to spend the day !!!!

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Peninsula High School, Purdy Elementary School and the District office were in lockdown from 12-2:00 today.

Everybody is safe. The lockdown put into effect was successful.

We are working closely with the Sheriff’s Department on an unconfirmed threat made upon PHS. We determined that everyone will be dismissed at the regular time and buses will use regular routes.

Student safety is our top priority and I want to personally thank everyone for their cooperation.
*********************************************************************

About 11:30 today one of the ladies in the office got a cell phone call from her daughter at the high school. The same High School Billy goes to. there was a report of a guy walking around with a gun. Several of the staff at my school have kids in high school. This was rather scary!!!

Later we find out on the news that the call had come from a pay phone a little ways from the school. THEN we hear that it was most likely a ploy because the bank was robbed about 7 miles from the school. The pay phone is about half way between the school and the bank. Now are we upset??? Oh yes!!

Why is it that the children are always the easy target? Why do people have to use the children that way?? I would dearly love to know who it was and have about 5 minutes alone with him. It most likely would not do any good, but I could at least have my say.

Billy was not a very happy camper. He had to spend the entire time in one class room. They did not let the student move around inside the school. This of course is for their safety. But I can tell you it can get boring to the older kids.

Well, that was how my day went. How was yours??
Love to all,
Granny

 Nothing is Easy..

Billy has been falling asleep in class and sleeping a lot around here. I had G-pa take him in to the doctor today. The doctor thinks that he may have sleep apnea. Why not!!! We are not sure yet because the blood tests he took won't be in for a couple days. Sleep Apnea can be anywhere from mild to life threatening. Isn't that wonderful?? Two self help things that can be done is lose weight, Billy is at 216 now. And no smoking. I am for that one. There are more, but those two would be best for Billy.

Oh well, what would I do if life was easy and organized?? I'll keep you posted. No pun intended..

Love to the Stream,
Granny

 Teen Children

Oh how I hate that!!! I just was finishing a post, and poof, GONE!!! I will have to try this again.

I just wrote about Billy and his run away girl friend. WELL, he just had another one.

Both girls were run aways, both were on probation and he is in love with both of them but not at the same time. What am I going to do with this kid???

this last one we were able to talk to her parents and give them our address and phone number before they went to report her to the police. So we were able to work our magic and let her decide that the right choice was to return home. When they police called, I was able to tell them that my husband was already driving her home. I'll tell you, that was one happy cop.

Now my dilemma, how do I teach Billy, 1- to protect himself first, and 2- not to always bring them home?? Yes, I am hiding.

Billy is the kind of person who brings home stray animals, so I should have guessed that people would be next.

On the better side, Ray seems to be gone. After his last explosion at Billy, he has not returned. The tension level here has dropped way down.

Branden is doing super. He has been home six months now and no trouble. He tried a bit of water testing, but found out now is not the time. but nothing that would get him back into trouble. He is doing awesome in school. He finally has decided to apply himself. He so far is looking at a low "A" or high "B". Not to shabby,

So that is how things are going in our corner of the world. It could be so much worse and I am thankful for what we have.

Love to you all,
Granny
