Idle Thoughts

 Adult Children...

I have decided that some of my adult children are anything but adults! Between the two of us we have seven grown children. Out of the seven I only worry about two. I guess that is not a bad average. But these two!!! They have both chosen the wrong road several times. Drinking, drugs, and driving without a license. You would think that after being caught they would learn. Nope, they just keep doing whatever they want.

The one I worry about the most seems not to want to realize he has some serious problems. He is 41 and his life is great. The fact that he has two children he never sees doesn't seem to matter. He always has an excuse why he can't call, why he can't go over there and so on. It really is disappointing. We see our grandchildren, so we are not missing out, but they always ask about him. Sad.

We really found out how serious his problem are when he stayed with us. We have custody of two of our other grandchildren. He took it into his head that he had to straighten them out. He decided that they were completely disrespectful to us. this is just because they did not jump up immediately when asked to do something. He really upset and scared me this last time he went off at one of the boys. He was screaming, yelling and swearing so bad. He was calling the teen he was mad at rotten names. Yes, I had plenty to say, but he just would not stop. He finally went out the door and we have not seen him since. That has been over a week.

He was here because he is injured and needed help and a place to stay. We took him in without even thinking about it. We have a self contained camping trailer that he was using as an apartment. Our only request, "No Smoking" inside the trailer. Shall we talk about respect?? That trailer smells like a dirty full ash tray. I don't get it. Personally, I really feel sorry for him. He has the ability to hold a job paying over $25.00 an hour and he has nothing. What a waste.

That's all,
Granny

 What a Week...

No wonder I have forgotten to come in here and write. Let me see, last Friday billy announced that he was engaged. Now remember, Billy is 15.5 years old. I'm cool, no panic. He has me give the young lady a ride to a friends house. (Red Flags) So I do, because he wanted to bring her home. NOT!!! OK that is done and cared for. Or so I thought. What he didn't tell me was she was a run away, and a foster child.

Later that evening he got a call from our Superintendent of schools. Good start!!! He was given a phone number to give to her IF he saw her. So when he said he HAD to go see her to take that number over, we started asking very pointed questions. He admitted then that she was a run away. His Grandpa took him over to try to talk the young lady into going home.
Unknown to them, while they were gone, I got a call from the Sheriff Dept. I had called the school superintendent back and told him everything I knew. (He is my boss!!) So I was equally honest with the sheriff. He went right there and found her. Billy was not happy, but I finally got through to him that she was safe.

So life moves on. About Tuesday she shows back up at school and everything is great, the world is wonderful and here we go again... Now it is Friday... She has been withdrawn from the school and sent to another foster home. that is so wrong, unless there is more to the story that I don't know about. Billy is sad.

On Wednesday evening Dear Grandpa decided to get into an argument with a horse. A colt actually. Well he lost. I had to take him to the doctor on Thursday and to get x rays. So I didn't work on Thursday. Now Grandpa is on crutches!!! He can not walk on one foot. So that means I lost my helper and I get to do all the running and shopping and all that stuff.

But today is Friday and just maybe I can relax a bit this weekend. I discovered today that Branden has an "A" average at school right now. He is doing real well. I couldn't be prouder of him. I can only pray that he can keep it up.

I got a monitor for Miss Terri so that will take care of one of her problems. Now I just have to get it to her and she has to get online. I am starting a line for people who want to kick her butt. I am first. Anyone else????

Better get out of here.
Love to all,
Granny

 Little Miss Perfect.

We drove over the mountains today to go visit our new "Great" granddaughter. Yes, I am bragging. She is perfect. But then, gifts from God are always perfect. Being able to hold and love her was more than worth the three hour drive each way.

Abby....

Needless to say my old bady is a bit tired tonight.

 Wanted - 1 Horse Whip..

I am beginning to think I know nothing about teens. Billy has started this year off with a bang. Not only has he managed to at least skip one class a day, he has skipped a whole day. So that is now 10 unexcused absences in 8 days of school. THEN, yesterday he light off some fireworks just after he got off the bus at school. Is this kids nuts or what??? Tomorrow he has to serve a detention after school because of the fireworks.

In the same time frame Branded has had one tardy. Branden has discovered that doing his homework on his computer not only creates a neat paper but makes it easier for him. DUH! That was the reason we bought the computer in the first place. I am glad he finally figured that one out.

Miss Terri has been flooded again. I mean that seriously. She lives in a three story apartment building. This is the third time that someone above her has caused her apartment to be flooded. I talked to her today and they are now "camping out" in an empty apartment until their carpeting is either cleaned or replaced. All this fun because some kid flushed a large Lego type block down the toilet. No, she still hasn't got her Internet.

I am very busy at work. I like that. I am a paperwork person so I am in my glory right now. I have to input all the new students into my computer, and then make physical files for the drawer. I have a ton of copies to make and lots to keep me busy. By the middle of the year, you will probably hear me complaining because I don't have enough to do. The gals in the office are good about sharing projects though..

As you can see, outside of my one trouble maker, things a good in my world. Maybe I should revert to my old tactic... I used to threaten to sit on him and bounce.. Of course then he was smaller than me...

So I am off for tonight. It is now 9:55PM here and I am posting this.

Night all,
Granny

 Teenagers!!!

Here I go again. I guess I will never understand why these two boys just can not follow simple rules. Is it too much to ask to have them let us know where they want to go BEFORE they go?? When I was a teen, (No Comments please ) If we did not ask Mom to go some place we were a grease spot. Yes, I know that was a couple years ago, but when did common courtesy go away??

the boys started school on Wednesday. On Wednesday Billy took off and went to a friend's house before he got home from school. Big No No!!! He should have gotten home about 3PM. It was after 7PM before we located him. That was bad, but then on Friday he did it again!! Not to be out done, Branden took out of here without permission and went to a guys house that is a known drug dealer. What does he want?? To go back to Juvie?? If this is the way the school year is going to go, I want out now!!!!

OK, I'm done bitching.. Just been holding it in and needed to blow. My work has been a zoo. Of course the first week or so of the new year is always crazy. I am trying to get all the new students medical information input into my computer. Busy fingers. I also do recess twice a day, so now it is a great break. Wait until the weather turns wet and cold and I will have different things to say.

So, now you know what is going on in my world. I have also been fighting a game I downloaded. It is called Atlantis Quest. I can get so far and I can not beat the stupid thing. I have started over a couple times. As if I need more frustration... Got to do something to keep me sane..

OH!! News My Great Grand Daughter has arrived. She was born Sept 4th at 9:32PM. 6 pound 4 ounces, 18.5 inches long. So how about them apples??

Ok, I'm out of here for now.
Love to all,
Granny
