Idle Thoughts

Christmas for a 17 month old.

This picture is too funny not to share. It is Skyler. He opened the gift with the box upside down. So looking into the box, it was empty. The look on his little face right after this was snapped was priceless.

 2006 Sad Year... 2007 ???

Well, Christmas is over for another year. This year has been extra hard. With Branden away and everything that had happened, It is just not a good feeling.

We were told that Branden will be coming home about April 20th. That makes me very happy. I miss having him here. I do not miss all the fighting and violence that happens between the two boys, but I sure do not like this situation either. Guess I am just hard to please!!!!

Terri and her family were here for the day, along with my husband's 2 sons and their families. I ended up serving dinner for 13. Of course the youngest was in a high chair. I counted him too. It was a nice dinner and evening. Now I get to put everything away for another year.

Saturday we are going down to visit Branden and celebrate his 16th birthday with him. His birthday is actually the 27th, but we couldn't get a special visitation as that is a therapy day. So, we will take a special cheesecake down and celebrate on Saturday. He doesn't know it, but Terri and Anthony are finally going to visit him. I have not said a word to him as I never know what is going to happen there. If all works out, he will be really pleased to see her. It will be the first time since September. Oh well, what can I do???

Well, there you have it. My thoughts for today. Scary huh???

Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year.

Prays for a Happy Safe Holiday.

That is my wish for one and all. I am slowly learning that we will be having a house full. That is good I guess. With all that has gone on it is really hard to feel festive about anything.

Enough of my Bah Humbug. You have a wonderful Christmas. I truly believe things will get better and back to semi normal.

Blessing on you all.

The Storm of Dec. 14th 2006

This is our only damage..

These two trees landed a few yards from our bedroom.

This tree fell out back. It hit the fence, but no major problem there. I love seeing these three working together..

A very thankful,

 Brrrrrrr. Back to the future...

We lost our power on the 14th. Not a big surprise with the storm that blew through here. We had trees all over. It looked like a war zone!! We went to light our propane stove. Would not work. Now this could be serious!!! So for four days we were here with no power, and no heat. Of course that also meant no hot water. And no computer!!! We lost three trees in our yard, but recieved no damage. No one hurt or any losses. We are very blessed.

On Saturday we all went up to Terri's house for Billy's 15th birthday. She made spaghetti and fried chicken. That was OK as we still had no power. She got a nice cake for Billy and he had to blow the candles out.

We made out OK. I cooked on our camp stove on my island in my kitchen, and heated water to wash the dishes. Oh, how I miss hot water and my modern appliances!!! We slept under 2 flannel quilts and at least that kept us warm at night. We moved the camping trailer over close to the front door and were ready to move out there. At least there was heat.

Our power came back on today about noon. It was about 55 inside the house then. I really don't like being cold!!! But everything is OK now as we are back to normal. No more of the OLD ways for a while I hope.

So now you know why I have been quiet for a few days. I really dislike being without a computer!!!

Love to all,
Granny
