Idle Thoughts

 Thursday... What a day...

My day started with a phone call from a father who's step son had just had a field trip the Friday before the long weekend. It seems that his son got overheated and dehydrated and ended up one sick guy. His liver is swollen and he is still not doing well.

I touched base with the teachers. They were shocked as it was not a hot day and there were drinking fountains all over the zoo. Back to my office and email the nurse I work with and the principal. Got to keep them in the loop. At the end of this crazy day I get a thank you for the information email back from the principal. He asked if I thought he should follow up. I gave him the home number.

OK, now down to work. I am still trying to get letters out to all of the incoming Kindergartners that need shots. By the end of the day I had finished that chore. BUT, during the day was crazy as I said.

My student with diabetes sugar level went off the chart. I called the Mom and she came over to check the pump. I got orders that if the blood sugars were still high at lunch I was to call the grandmother to come and change the set. At lunch the numbers were a tiny bit lower, but not into the safety zone yet. Grandma came and all the meter would say is HI. That means the student is over 500. Grandma gave the student a shot the old fashioned way. By the end of the day the student was still at 396. I called Mom again and she said it was OK for the student to ride the bus home.

During all this, I had another student come in and tell me she was down by the backstop and a board fell and hit her on top of the head!!!! I went into high gear!! I got the custodian checking the backstop for safety issues. Got ahold of the principal and told him. He was not happy. Thankfully the girl was OK.

So the day was insane. But I made it through. I get home and so far things are calm.

Take care and be safe,
Granny

 Not So Happy Days.

Yesterday was one of those days. A lot of anger and fighting. It was short lived but it sure ruined the whole day. Today everyone is just down. Some day this has to end.

The boys got into one hairy fight. Branden kept typing to kick Billy and Billy would not stand still. Branden kept yelling at him to stop and come back. WHY??? I would not stand still and let someone drop kick me!! It was mainly verbal, EXCEPT for the large hole Branden kicked in the wall in the house. Why not, G0-pa will fix it.

G-pa went totally ballistic. He is so very tired of their destruction. 14 years of it is a few too many. You would think by now that they would figure out that the stress they are causing is not good on either of us.

Tomorrow the so called Functional Family Therapist is coming for one of the last times. These 12 weeks have been a total waste of his time and ours. In order for something like that to work, everyone has to buy into the program. that didn't happen. Branden gave him a lot of lip service and did what he wanted.

Well, I can say that Billy has been doing better since our last meeting at the school. He even worked his tail off over the weekend making the yard look great. (Branden took off to the beach after being told not to.) Oh well. We worked all three days as the weather was great. I have a sun burnt nose to prove it.

OK, I will end this bitch session. I know that the Lord will never give us more than we can handle. So in that I put my faith.

Stay safe and happy,
Granny

 Another Awesome Day.

I heard it rained a lot last night, but you could prove it by me!!! I laid down and died!! I got up this morning to another sunny day. WOW!! Two in a row. Are we blessed here or not.

Today I had some help and put a fairly large hole in the weeding on my list. The boys were great helpers. I also got an early birthday gift. Ray is building something to hold my big clementis up. It is off the patio and going to be super when it is finished. It is something I have wanted for a while. I am going to pay for the work today I am afraid. Crawling around on the ground is not something this body is used to anymore. My back is screaming at me right now. I am praying that it will let up over night. One thing I do know, I will survive!!!

We have had picnic food for the last two days.  Both days it was potato salad.  We finished it off tonight.  Nummy!!!  So tomorrow I will have to come up with something different.  I am toying with the idea of stuffed peppers.  It is something we haven't had for a long time. We'll see....

Well, I just got reminded that I promised strawberry shortcake for tonight.  I have to go make it quick.  Have a good night.

Big Hugs,

Granny

OMG... G-Pa thinks he died and went to Heaven !!!!

G-pa got up early and was going to go check on an air conditioning unit at a local church garage sale. It was for a local barber that is opening a new shop. OK that is well and good. WELLLLLLLLL.... He also follows little signs rather well. In our neighborhood there is a lady that is moving. It seems her brother moved out and left her holding the rent bag so to speak. She is selling almost everything to move into an apartment. After a quick look around he came flying home and got Ray. I think the picture explains it all

The two of them came home LOADED!!! They have so many tools now I don't know where they are going to put them all. Even Branden and Billy will end up with tool chests. That is a great idea, then just maybe they will let other people's tool along??? I dream...

OK, so Saturday is quickly becoming a great day. The weatherman thankfully is wrong... We are at 81* right now. It has been a beautiful day. Yes, I got a little weeding finished.

Talks with you later..

 TGIF

Is going to be nice to have a three day weekend. But I just hope the weather man is wrong as usual. They are saying rain, and I would like to be able to get outside some this weekend. I need to weed around my roses, iris', and just be outside.

Oh well, living in Washington I know we take what we get. We are not called the Evergreen State for no reason. We do get our share of rain.

Billy got some welcome news today. He just got off suspension again. We had to have a big meeting to prove that his behaviors are directly related to his disabilities. Not a problem!!! Anyway, he was suppose to attend some Friday school days. (His high school only goes Mon - Thurs.) I found out today that the Principal had rolled his Friday schools into the suspension. So IF he can behave for he next three weeks, he won't have to go to school on Friday. He is a happy camper.

Branden in still hibernating in his bedroom. It is sad to see him just wasting this precious time in High School. But like the old saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make them drink". Some day he will realize how much he has wasted. He can still pull it out with the slightest effort.

G-pa has been working away on his boat. I made the statement that I would love to go fishing again. And "BOOM" the boat became priority #1. That is OK, he love the water as much as I do. That is a good thing too since we live on a peninsula. Lots of salt water around...

The brain is just rambling tonight so I am going to call it quits for tonight. Have a great Friday.
