Ready for Homecoming...

1- Branden and I were talking today and he was excited. It seems he has earned another step to getting into another unit that will allow him more fredom. He was very up and it was fun talking to him.

2- I got a call from the Vice Principal at the high school. She was completely apologtic. It seems it was NOT Welbutrin that the other kid had taken and she was very sorry to make me worry about Billy giving him pills.

So today was a 2 thumbs up day all around.

Today I found out that Billy is still cutting class and is flunking 4 of his 6 classes. I made the mistake of comparing him to his brother. I only meant it in as so far as he is not doing his homework and is flunking. He got mad. I told him that we were not equal; as I am mad too. He is better than flunking most his classes.

then we both calmed down and discussed what he could do to increase his attendance, and GPA. Being subzero doesn't make it. We discussed the Math Tutoring class after school. I told him I would gladly drive to the high school and pick him up if that is what he wants to try. We will see...

I have to do something to turn this kid around. He doesn't need to be going down the path he is. I know he has dreams about his future, and he is ruining it fast.
So this old lady keep fighting...

Yesterday we went to court to try to get the $5130.00 that the county wanted for the time Branden spent in detention. We went in there talked to the lady judge and she lowered it to $1630.00!!! We can deal with that much easier.

Today my husband was to have day surgery. We got in there and the doctor checked him out and told him to go home. He didn't need surgery!!! Now how is that for cool???

Then this afternoon I got a call from billy's High school. It seems that someone gave another kids Welbutrin. Billy just happens to take Welbutrin. We got home did a pill count and he is right on. No pills missing. What a nice feeling. We didn't think Billy would do anything like that, but it sure felt good to call the school and tell them that there are no doses missing.

So this has been an awesome week so far.

Today I got an email for the Social Worker at the High School. It seems the girl that was on the camp out this weekend went into her office accusing her of telling me about her drug use history.

Now, I know I am not 16 any more, but I do remember her sitting right here in my house telling me about the fact that she "used to" use drugs. I praised her for stopping. So just what is her game???

I told the social worker about the incident and reminded her that I also had kept that gals confidence until then.
but neither one of us went into any details so we still didn't break her confidence. Oh we are good...

I am very glad we told Billy he had to stay away from there. The more I learn the less I like. but let us all remember, I am the parent and I know nothing. Right???
