Idle Thoughts

 End of the Month...

Tomorrow is the 30th, the end of November. I am hoping that December will be a better month.

December is supposed to be all Christmas and happy. For me it is stress time. You know, What to buy for who???? I keep saying I am going to start early in the year and buy something every month. Well, some year I just might do that..

Terri told me that her husband just told her that she should get a different job. Working fast food is not good for her. She told him that IF she had her internet, she could have a different better job. Tee Hee, take that. I know I am mean. But I am not happy with the way she is cut off from every one. My opinion, and I am entitled to have it.

I learned something today. NEVER and I do mean never, push the reset button on your DSL modem. It wiped out my log-on and I was off the air for over 24 hours. Man talk about rough!!! So now, I promise to leave the little buttons alone!!!

Take care God Bless you all,
Granny

Are we ready for the insanity??

Yes, it is that time of year again. Chuck and I are beginning to stress about how we are going to get something for everyone. It can be a bit of a challenge with 11 grandchildren and 7 children with 5 spouses. I did find cute boxes of all occasion card and got 7 boxes. That can help fill in. I think I will make each family a container of homemade Christmas cookies and give them each a big hug and say Merry Christmas. Then, we can concentrate on the young ones.
Christmas is not about gifts, It is about LOVE!

Well, Terri was here for a visit over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Unfortunately she got a full dose of the Russian Front. Billy decided to try to pull something on Grandpa and it got a bit tense. Billy talked Grandpa into taking him to see his girlfriend(?) and the race was on. Billy tried to run off in another town, in another county. Didn't work too well and he ended up back with Grandpa and his girlfriend in custody because of a warrant. Oh the joys of raising children...

All Terri could ask is, "what was wrong with Billy"? She did not like the explanation, but the facts are the facts. Nothing anyone can really do about it now, except try to support him and love him unconditionally. That is what Chuck and I have done for 14 years now. It is getting harder, as he gets mouthier tho.

This too shall pass. One thing I know for sure is that God will never desert us or will He give us more than He knows we can handle. He will also bring us through to the end.

So another week is finished and we are getting closer to our Christmas break from school. We get out the 19th of December and do not return until the 2nd of January. You might say two weeks vacation. I can deal with it!!!

I got my new glasses tonight. I decided to try the no line lenses. I wear trifocals so this is a learning experience for my eyes. I can see OK, but I have to remember to not move my eyes so much side to side. Maybe the no line will make this old lady look a bit younger???

OK, I am out of here. I did not sleep well last night. You might say, I am a bit tired..

Love to all,
Granny

From a Friend... To Many Friends.....

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of Their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there Isn't anymore. No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I love you."

So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick. This is true for marriage ... And old cars .. And children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.

Life is important, like people we know who are special. And so, We keep them close!

I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent it to the People I think of in the same way. Now it's your turn to send this to all those people Who are "keepers" in your life, including the person who sent it if you feel that way. Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know you love them?

I was thinking...I could die today, tomorrow or next week, and I wondered if I had Any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or three words needing to be said.

Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think they don't love You back, you would be amazed at what those three little words and a smile can do.

And just in case GOD calls me home .....

I LOVE YA!!!

 Thanksgiving

Dinner is over. The dishes are washed and put away. Everyone has now gone back to their own homes. We had five families, 19 bodies here for dinner.

I worked all day, watched some football too. I am still feeling like I am pregnant because of course I ate too much. The bones are in the kitchen simmering to make turkey soup tomorrow.

Now I can collapse and rest, it is over for another year.

Night all,
Granny
