Idle Thoughts

I think we have a BUG

Today in the Health Room I had 21 kids. 90% of them had bad headaches and or stomach aches. I think that bug is back!!! I had to send 6 home. Doesn't sound like much, but when they are vomiting, it is a lot!!!

The weather was good today that is what surprised me with all the kids coming in. Usually on nice sunny days I get next to nobody!! Man, I sprayed and cleaned like a mad fool in the Health Room. I don't want any bugs left in my office...

I am also getting very frustrated!!!! OK, the boys father put insurance on them. But because of the privacy laws the insurance company can't talk to me until they have a release of information form signed by the boys. Also they need to know the employer!!! I actually had to put Billy on the phone talking to them to get this far. The reason we need the employer's name, we have to go to their website to find out about the insurance coverage. Even Billy was getting frustrated talking and waiting while he was put on hold. I am going to TRY to contact our local Division of Child Support as that is who send the cards and hopefully has some information. Anyone want to bet that they won't be able to release any information of the father??? Life is so much fun....Oh well, things could be so much worse..

OK, now I have unloaded for this evening. I needed that.
Thanks,
Granny

 Sunday

After reading Bookworm's wonderful sermon on Blogstream Cummunity Church this morning, I went outside to survey my poor plants. Spring is not being nice to them. But they are growing.

While looking at one overpowering Day Lillie I have in my front garden I spotted a visitor. I couldn't resist running for the camera. God had made me smile.

A tiny tree frog was sitting on one of the green stems. So tiny, so quiet and so beautiful. I just had to share him with you.

hugs,

 Interesting Mail delivery.

I know Miss Terri will get a real charge out of this news.

We got another mailing from the king County Prosecuting Attorney's office today. It seems that they caught up with the boy's father "again". He has been in and out of jail and in and out of court over his lack of support payments. well, today they released him again with an order to pay $750 a month by payroll deduction. Same as last time. He is supposed to pay by the 1st of every month. (Do you see me holding my breath??)

ALSO!!! We received a mailing from the local welfare office and it seems that their father has now got medical coverage on them. He had this one time before and when I went to use it, it was no longer there. Not a big surprise.

Now you are still wondering why Miss Terri will enjoy this?? Well, the welfare department tried to force her to supply medical on the boys too. Since she is paying her support and is somewhat involved in their life, I got ahold of the welfare and told them her coverage is not necessary as we have complete coverage on them. BUT, I have no intention of doing that for their father!!! He can just carry the double coverage on them. With what Billy may be going through we may just need it.

Now, I know I am not showing any charity for him, but he has hurt these boys so deeply it isn't funny. So if he can provide anything for them, I am not going to stop it. I have bent over backwards to help that man be a father to these two. It isn't a high priority to him so he can just suffer. They deserve the best.

Now, I have to find out what is covered and what is not. Then I ca n decided which coverage is the best for them. I do know our HMO is far from good. but we are stuck with it.

Oh darn, I am getting questions about dinner. Guess I am going to have to go cook. What should I fix... It is only 6:00PM what is the rush???

OK, I am gone. Have a great evening.

 Friday... Lazy Day...

Well, last night I called our Office Manager and explained that I just needed the day off as G-pa had too many appointments at one time. She said no problem. So, I took today off.

A lazy day, well not quite. I was running with Billy. You see Ray had to be in Tacoma to attend a court appearance, and Billy had a doctor appointment. I took Billy. I picked him up at noon and took him out to lunch. "Just the two of us." Then we hit Target and found him another pair of pants. That is the one thing I can say he honestly needs. We checked the clearance rack and the cheapest pair was almost $18.00. So I told him to find a pair for the regular rack. The were the same price or less. He was happy. Then he headed for the video games and of course he found one. I bought it for him as he has been doing homework everyday. AND... I made him do more before he could play. That was not his plan, but he didn't fight it.

We still had time to kill before his appointment so we went and checked out the new shopping area in Gig Harbor. Just happens to be right across the street from our doctor's office. We now have a Borders and that pleases me. After we walked around a bit and decided the shops were mainly for the upper crust, we went to Borders. I foound Branden a book, "Windows Game Programing for Dummies". It came with a CD for his computer. He seemed happy with it.

Time for the doctor. My reason for taking him in, sleep apnea and allergies. He said the allergies were easier. He gave us nasal spray "samples" to try. Not too many doctors around do that anymore!!!! The sleep apnea, he is ordering a sleep study for Billy. Now IF our insurance is OK with it. We have to wait and see.

Then we had to hit the grocery store. What a day. Of course then I got to cook and clean after I got back home. Oh well, I guess it goes with the territory. It was after 5:30PM when we finally got back home. It was a good 5 1/2 hours of one on one time with Billy. He didn't have his MP3 so we actually got to talk.

That was my day mainly. Not sit back and read a funny...

Ramblings of a Retired Mind

I was thinking about how a status symbol of today is those cell phones that everyone has clipped onto their belt or purse.

I can't afford one.

So, I'm wearing my garage door opener. I also made a cover for my
hearing aid and now I have what they call blue teeth, I think

You know, I spent a fortune on deodorant before I realized that people didn't like me anyway.

I was thinking that women should put pictures of missing husbands on
beer cans!

I was thinking about old age and decided that old age is 'when you still have something on the ball, but you are just too tired to bounce it.'

I thought about making a fitness movie, for folks my age, and call it
"Pumping Rust."

I have gotten that dreaded furniture disease. That's when your chest is falling into your drawers!

I know, when people see a cat's litter box, they always say, "Oh, have you got a cat?"

Just once I want to say, "No, it's for company!"

Employment application blanks always ask who is to be notified in case of an emergency.'

I think you should write, "A Good Doctor!"

Why do they put pictures of criminals up in the Post Office?

What are we supposed to do... write to these men?

Why don't they just put their pictures on the postage stamps so the
mailmen could look for them while they deliver the mail?

Or better yet, arrest them while they are taking their pictures!

I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older Then, it dawned on me, they were cramming for their finals.

As for me, I'm just hoping God grades on the curve.

Bye for now, Be safe,
Granny

 Thursday

What is this anyway?? Scare me week??? Today I had a forth grade male having petite seizures. No kidding. He would just sit and stare off in space. Totally blank!!! This young man has no history of anything like this. So I am on the phone to his Mom. She rushed right over and got him. We had documented the incident so she has current information for his doctor. I sure hope it is anything except seizures. He already has other health issues.

Outside of that episode today was a good sunny day. No kidding the sun is out and it is even warm. Come on weather keep it up!!!

My knee kept me awake most of the night, but I survived. It still hurts, but it is letting up I think. I had to take Ibuprofen a few times last night and today, but I am still walking and going strong. It just hurts when I stop, or try to rest. Silly knee...

So, I will get out of here for now. The Mariners are playing Cleveland. WE are losing again at this point, but I still like to watch.Got to support the home team.

Hugs,
Granny
