Idle Thoughts

 A Good Day
Back to Full Blog

Days like today remind me why I love being alive. Yes, it was a very nice day. It started with a meeting about Billy, and it couldn't have gone better. Everyone there full realized that his behaviors are caused by his disabilities. Also we were able to tell them that in therapy he has start desensitization. It was a very positive meeting. (Only 4 weeks of school left.)

Then of course having the sun out and the flowers blooming all over didn't hurt at all. It was a beautiful day. At school the kids had a ball. Being able to get out there and play in the sun was great. The smells in the air of the grass, the flowers and people burning. All the smells of spring.

But to my surprise, I walked into the house and Branden had decided to get his hair cut. What a pleasant surprise!! He claims to want his hair long. but, he looks so handsome with a nice haircut. Yes, I am old fashioned but that is me, can't help it. He told me, "You know, I figured out I can grow my hair long any time in the future". WOW what a statement.

Every day I thank God for the gifts he gives me. Some days it is harder than others to think of things. But, then I remember I am alive and can serve Him. That is a big gift. Tonight I am going to bed feeling just a bit spoiled, and very thankful for my family and friends.

Good night my friends,
Granny

Granny,

I believe the reason you see changes is because you don't spread negative thoughts - you don't predict evil for these children - you project hope and health and goodness - and guess what you get what you look for!!!!

I want to applaud you!!!!!!!! Three cheers for granny!

Oh Sweet Granny, what a beautiful post. You made me proud to be alive, and like you said "another day to serve the Lord"...

I saw my son in Feb., and his wife looked adorable, and I swear Granny, He looked like the Uni Bomber. He's so handsome, and 34, and still gets on these kicks about growing his hair and a full beard. These kids....Mine will never grow up. I love them so.

Thanks for your thoughts and so glad Spring is upon you at last, and that school is almost out. Heide

Thank you for sharing your son. My oldest son is 43 and also likes to have the back of his hair long. He claims his neck is too long. OK, your hair, your life.
God Bless,
Cheryl

Oh Girl, isn't it hard, and all we want is for them to be alright.

My olderst is my daughter, 37, and she is a whole other story, and my husband has a 41 year old son. I never knew worry until they were born, and I would'nt take anything for them......but the sleepless nights and grey hairs.

Lands, who would have thunk it? Love ya, Heide

Amen to that... Between us we had seven. Now raising these two is a completely different world!!! Do know what you mean about stress and worry. But we will survive and many other mothers and grandmothers have done. Hugs, Cheryl
